PARIS, 11 April, 2006 - Boonty, the worldwide expert in digital video game distribution, and Microsoft have today announced the signature of a strategic partnership within the context of the Microsoft France’s IDEES program (Initiative for the Economic Development of Software Publishers and Start-ups).
Within the IDEES program, Boonty will benefit from Microsoft’s technical, marketing and sales support in order to increase visibility to potential clients. Selected for the innovation of its digital video game distribution offer, and for the success of its development on three continents, Boonty widens significantly its development potential and affirms its position as world leader in digital video game distribution.
The IDEES program: a new trampoline for Boonty’s development
Within the IDEES program, Boonty is currently finalising the adaptation of their offer on Windows Media Center, a prelude to the development of the Boonty solution for Vista, the future Windows operating system, scheduled to be released for January, 2007.
In the next weeks, the Internet portals which have chosen Boonty to create, operate and animate their game channels will already be able to offer their users a navigation, download and purchase experience which takes advantage of all the benefits of Windows Media Center.
Boonty benefits from a three-pronged accompaniment:
- Technological support with access to the Microsoft Technology Center, allowing publishers to test their applications in different hardware and software environments, as well as access Microsoft’s technical resources and to therefore accelerate their software development,
- Sales and marketing support allowing Boonty to optimise their visibility thanks to marketing events and Microsoft’s international network,
- On-line technical support staffed by Microsoft engineers.
Mathieu Nouzareth, General Manager of Boonty, expresses his pleasure in this partnership: “By sharing medium and long term technology development support, Microsoft allows Boonty to anticipate the evolution of Windows operating systems.
Boonty will benefit from a significant advance in their offer for gamers and those Internet portals utilising the Boonty solution. We are working to bring our applications to Vista in time for its release. Not to mention the visibility and legitimacy that this prestigious partnership brings, a sign of significant development for our offer of digital distribution of video games.”
“The IDEES initiative encourages innovation and economic development of software in France, and complements the steps already taken in research and the French technology industry. The support given to Boonty shows the extent of our French office’s engagement for innovation and recognises the excellent potential of this already international company.” states Marc Jalabert, Director of the Enterprise Platform Division, Microsoft France.
